İrem Çoban was born in 1986 in Türkiye. She opted to take her bachelor’s degree at 1st rank and master’s degree in Cinema at Galatasaray University. Çoban has participated in group exhibitions, festivals, and workshops in countries such as the USA, Greece, Japan, the UK, Canada, Italy, South Korea, Bulgaria, Germany, and Türkiye. In the Art Woman 2020 Geo-Graphies exhibition organized by Primo Piano LivingGallery in Lecce, Italy, she was awarded the best technical practice award and the Silver Certificate. Her short film Hear has been selected for the official screening selections of various international film and art festivals. Her proficiency in art thesis work received the Doctoral Thesis Research Scholarship on Women in March 2020 at the festival organized by Shenema International Short Film Platform. She is one of the seven resident artists of Immensiva 2022 by Espronceda Institute of Art & Culture in Barcelona, Spain, and one of the mentors of İstanbul XRArt Residency 2022. In May 2023, she gave Gravity Sketch workshops as a visiting professor at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland. She took place as artistic coordinator and Gravity Sketch workshop mentor at META SPARK HACKATHON held at Facebook Maslak Station on 17 and 24 June 2023. She lives in İstanbul, where she works as an Assistant Professor at İstanbul Bilgi University.
