Xarene's video and photographic work are the aesthetic outcome of her research in perception and technology. Her interest is in shifting bodily self perception through altering perceptions of time and space.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Design, University of Cincinnati, and MFA in Design and Media Arts, UCLA, and speaks and exhibits her work at international events and institutions, to name a few: Mutek, Montréal; SIGGRAPH; International Symposium of Electronic Arts, Singapore; Istanbul Design Biennial; Iceland Academy of Arts; Fabrica, Treviso; Bâtiment d'art contemporain, Genève; Centre of Contemporary Art, Torun; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; and Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibits.
Her Doctorate in Media Arts and Technology, titled Aesthetics for a Philosophy of Scale, is in the works at UC Santa Barbara.
