Wade Marynowsky is a Sydney based artist working across robotics, immersive, interactive installation, performance, music and video. He has an established career in the field of new media arts, exhibiting nationally and internationally since 1998. His work has been presented in major festivals, biennales and survey exhibitions.
For example, in 2018 he exhibited ‘Synthesiser-Robot’ (2017), in ‘Data life, Mechanical life, Synthesise life, The Beijing Media Arts Biennale', at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum, Beijing, China and in 2010 he exhibited ‘The Hosts, a Masquerade of Improvising Automatons’ (2009) in Mediations biennale, The 2nd International Biennale of Contemporary Art, Poznan, Poland.
The mid career survey exhibition ‘Nostalgia for Obsolete Futures’ at the National Gallery of Victoria, in 2014 was one of Marynowsky’s most significant career highlight to date.
The world premiere of Robot Opera (2015) was co-presented by Performance Space and Carriageworks as a key work within the ‘Liveworks’, festival of live and experimental arts. In 2016 the project's international debut was held at the National Performing Arts Centre, National Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Most recently 'The Ghosts of Roller Disco’ was exhibited in ‘The Fourteenth International Conference on Tangible, Embedded, and Embodied Interaction’, TEI2020, Tin Sheds Gallery, University of Sydney, 2020.
