Tipi artist statement tipi is oji cree anishinaabe kwe “she/her“ and is a self described “reclamation” artist, refurbishing ewaste and creating digital art w discarded tech for over 20years. her research focus is areas of cultural biases in art, data biases of tech and environmental science, exploration of data sovereignty, and of data storage. tipi shares alternative paradigms and story lines of her own first nation northern culture and language through digital artworks or lens based work. with a post secondary education in es/traditional environmental knowledge, art history, and as an vegan ~ tipi utilizes her art mediums to push back against stereotypes and is conscientious vocal advocate for inclusion of cultures, diversity of languages, & gender equality, so much so she set up her own artist co - op w her tipi outside. ~🔺🔺🔺
