matthewconboy.com Matthew Conboy (b. 1977, Washington, DC, USA) is an artist and photographer working in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After earning a BS in Architecture from the Catholic University of America in 1999, he studied photography at Virginia Commonwealth University where he received his MFA in 2004. Although photography is his primary medium, his works also incorporate performance, video, conceptual, and installation art. Current projects include tracking the population center of the United States as it moves between each Census, photographing military medals and ribbons of Soldiers killed in the Iraq War, and digitally rendering the Pledge of Allegiance as neon signs and street protest posters. He has exhibited works at venues including the National Building Museum, the Mattress Factory Art Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, and the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
