Stuart Batchelor is a computer artist working at the intersection of traditional art, new technology and storytelling - aiming to blur the boundaries between machine and hand crafted visuals. Driven by a desire to unite artmaking and maths he continuously seeks to develop new tools to create new art and stories with - sharing and teaching along the way. A fascination with technology, maths, painterly abstraction and lush textures inform his unique discipline - A hybrid process involving physical media, computer hardware and custom software, to create kinetic paintings that react to user interaction and live data. By employing both the painter’s observational eye and the engineer’s procedural logic, he combines gesture with data, physical understanding with computer technology- resulting in print, video and installation artworks that showcase a union between new and old, the latest technology alongside timeless techniques.
