Maximilian Glas was born in 1998 and grew up near Augsburg in the south of Germany. He mainly works with photography. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in photography from Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule, he started a residency at Fabrica Communication Research Center in 2021.

The greater framework of Glas's practice is a post-structuralist attitude towards photography: He is interested in dismantling and reconstructing the aesthetic and social structures of the medium. Reoccuring subjects are the impact of technology on society and climate change narratives. Glas will continue his studies in fine arts with a focus on photography at HFBK Hamburg, starting Fall 2021.
