Celebrating Art and Creativity: Sedition at MMMAD Festival

Art has the power to transcend boundaries, ignite emotions, and bring people together. Sedition joins forces with MMMAD, Madrid’s Urban Digital Arts Festival to support an extraordinary festival that merges technology and creativity.

This festival celebrates the vibrant world of digital art. As a part of the festival, Clear Channel programme presents 422 urban screens in Madrid and its metropolitan area into an awe-inspiring open-air museum. Among the festival's highlights is the Sedition curates Fullscreen exhibition in collaboration with MMMAD showcasing an exquisite selection of 10 international artists; Pandelis Diamantides, Jaap Drupsteen, Sarah Elawad, Andreas Nicolas Fischer, Krista Kim, Rafaël Rozendaal, Guli Silberstein, Kirsten Swensen, Florence To and Ryoichi Kurokawa.

The Fullscreen exhibition is Sedition's dedication to pushing the boundaries of digital art. Each artist showcased in this year's festival presents innovative creations that redefine the possibilities of the medium.

  • New Ideas For Increased Mobility by Pandelis Diamantides:
  • Part of the groundbreaking series Go Back to Hiding in the Shadows, Diamantides' digital masterpiece invites viewers on a mesmerizing journey. Drawing inspiration from the Troodos mountain range in Cyprus, the artist weaves together diverse visual elements to create a truly immersive experience. 

  • Silent Sirens 1 by Jaap Drupsteen:
  • Drupsteen's creation, a captivating addition to the Traces of Life collection, delves into the enigmatic realm between life and death. By exploring the resurrection of dead matter through shifting light and shadow, this artwork evokes a profound emotional charge. 

  • Closer by Sarah Elawad:
  • Sarah Elawad presents Closer, an exploration of the intricate world of human cells and tissue. Through visually disfiguring shapes taken from close-up medical images, Elawad transforms scientific data into a captivating animated experience. 

  • Hyperschwarm 8 by Andreas Nicolas Fischer:
  • As part of the breathtaking Hyperschwarm collection, Hyperschwarm 8 showcases Fischer's mastery of generative systems. With its ever-evolving colour compositions, this artwork takes viewers on a mesmerizing visual journey. 

  • Continuum Remix v.2 by Krista Kim
  • Continuum Remix v.2 presents a vision of meditation and digital beauty for collective consciousness. In a world forever changed, this artwork serves as a reminder to adapt with mindfulness, self-care, and creative energy.
