Children & the Arts is a national charity that unlocks the arts for children who need to be inspired by them the most.
The charity works with school children from areas of social and economic disadvantage, as well as children in hospice care, taking them on a journey into their local arts venue and introducing them to inspiring and creative arts activities they would not have experienced before.
For these children, these experiences can be life changing – increasing their confidence, building up skills they would never have known they had, giving them access to a third space that is neither home nor school so they can communicate independently, enabling them to engage with their peers and teachers in an equal setting, and most of all, capturing their imaginations in a new and exciting world.
