The Rewildings collection by Stephen Walter features three animated pieces presented as a series of woodland images that hover in a time-scale between total black and total white out. The levels of detail in the images are maintained throughout the films giving them an eerie effect of night and day sequences. The works allude to a sense of time and the ephemeral nature of appearances as the depicted matter slowly dissolve and re-emerge. From blinding white snow that appears to consume the image to the impinging darkness of night, the images shift the viewer's’ imagination of a lonely wilderness.
