Room of Time is Soa J. Hwang's video artwork released as a part of <Time + Machine> initially created as an interactive video installation.
In Hwang's work Room of Time, there’s a 3D visualisation of the classical Grasshopper escapement invented by British clockmaker John Harrison. The 3D clock was programmed to display the current local time. As an original interactive work, the virtual representation of a real clock is telling audiences the current time of where they are. Like Rene Magritte’s The Treachery of Images, there’s an odd fluidity between reality and virtuality.
