From 8 to 10 October, works by 20 acclaimed artists were presented at Dubai World Trade Centre as part of World Art Dubai.
Initially planned for earlier in the year, the fair was postponed to October and was held following social distancing guidelines. World Art Dubai was an opportunity for art lovers to see works by their favourite artists in close proximity, showcased in bespoke displays. It was also an opportunity for artists and art world professionals to meet in a safe and spacious setting - a rarity in 2020. The fair featured a program of curated talks, performances and workshops, and presented work by 120 artists and galleries from around the world.
The work of Sedition artists was showcased in a display as part of the fair’s Art Lab section organised in partnership with Arte Experience and Samsung. The works were shown on Samsung - The Frame TVs, which were available at a 23% discount during World Art Dubai.
The artists featured in the display were Zeitguised, Michelle Poonawalla, FIELD, Bharti Kher, Krista Kim, Matthew Biederman, Maxim Zhestkov, Sougwen Chung, Memo Akten, onformative, Philip Clemo, Doug Foster, Ali Phi, Can Büyükberber, Andreas Nicolas Fischer, Frederik de Wilde, Laura Splan, Claudia Hart, and fuse*. In addition, a free gift artwork by Terry Flaxton - Cloud Sculptures over the Atacama Desert - was offered to visitors at the fair.
