First Breath is a bold, innovative non-verbal short documentary released for Earth Day 2021. It explores the journey of ageing, from birth to death, through the diverse landscapes we inhabit, including our own bodies. The human body is captured as ambiguous landscapes and compared and contrasted with macro and micro images of our planet.
First Breath is an introduction to The Breath Project, a larger ongoing project by Philip Clemo which has featured in two TED talks in the UK and US, at the V&A and the Eden project.
This project has been made in collaboration with members of the production teams who worked on David Attenborough's ground-breaking natural history programmes and partnerships with world leading tech partners Vision Research and ARRI.
First Breath is available to stream online from 22nd April 2021 (Earth Day). In addition, a special series of digital editions created by Philip Clemo has been made available via Sedition.
