With the new year come new plans and updates at Sedition, designed to enhance the experience of viewing and collecting screen-based artworks. We’re excited to have implemented a range of updates our Apple TV and iOS apps, to improve your art collecting experience on Apple devices.
As part of these updates we’re pleased to announce a new wave of improvements to our Art Stream feature. A subscription to Art Stream will give access to works by acclaimed established and emerging artists from around the world, viewable on digital devices. With the artworks on the Sedition platform at your fingertips you can design playlists and artwork displays to suit your surroundings. Read up on the new features below, and get ready to start curating your own digital art display!
New and improved Vault
A highlight of the improved Art Stream is the new Sedition Vault. Subscribers to Art Stream can now view artworks, and produce and access playlists, in a variety of ways, giving you the subscriber greater flexibility and creative control over your digital art experience.
One of the most important changes to the Vault is that subscribers to Art Stream can create multiple playlists from their weekly selection of twelve artworks. To create a custom playlist:
-Select an artwork (Browse artworks here) and click ‘Rent’ beneath the artwork you’d like to add to your Vault.
-Confirm that you’d like to add the artwork to your Vault.
-Visit your Vault to see your rented artworks.
-Head to Playlists and select Create New Playlist. Drag artworks from your Vault into the new playlist; click the pencil icon to name your playlist.
-Click Save: your playlist is now ready to view!
You can also access suggested playlists curated by Sedition; these can be found on the Art Stream Homepage under Curated Collections, and can be added to your Vault with a single click. Please note that to save a Curated Collection to your Vault, the Vault must be empty. Also please note that due to the limited edition size of artworks, a work may be removed from your Vault if it is fully rented and someone purchases it. If you'd like to keep an artwork permanently you can purchase an edition at any time.
Choosing Weekly Mode in Art Stream will automatically update your artwork selection every Monday. Choosing Weekly Mode will remove any artworks and playlists already in your Vault.
Art Pass
Another highlight of the recent round of updates is the introduction of a free Art Pass for anyone taking up an annual subscription to Art Stream. Art Pass is worth £65 and gives you free entry to over 240 UK museums and galleries, plus half price offer to selected major exhibitions. This offer is made in partnership with Art Fund and is open to anyone purchasing an annual pass as an ‘early bird’, before the end of January 2018. Early bird subscribers will also benefit from one-third off the standard subscriptions.
