Confluence by Kseniia Timofeeva is an elusive collection of video artworks that traverse the fusion of everyday, vital human matter with the human body itself. The symbiotic relationship of these two elements allows the spectator insight into the connection as well as disconnection between humans and the vitality of that which we consume, that which eventually becomes us.

Made up of five works, a hand is seen to alter five central artifacts of food, allowing for an unheralded experience of uncovered body parts to ensue. The abruptness with which the spectator encounters these conspicuous elements of the body provokes an internal reflection on the relationship we hold with food - and thus ourselves. As a multilayered manifestation of what we consume, food, therefore, in Timofeeva’s own words, is not just a sustenance, but a conduit for communication.
