Each culture represents the actualization of human potential within a particular environment on Earth and at a specific period in history. A culture is deeply intertwined with its unique space-time context, which shapes its episteme. Can different epistemes be reconciled to transcend the limitations of our zeitgeist?
The project Imkān امکان (meaning possibility, contingent, existence in Farsi and Urdu) attempts to find aesthetic parallels between AI and geometry, digital pixel and Girih patterns in Persian architectures, and computational and cosmological codes, all of which hold the potential to signify the imperceptible.
The series' soundtracks are crafted using audio outputs generated by an AI model trained on a curated dataset of Persian classical music. These outputs are arranged through generative algorithms and refined using digital signal processing techniques.
Various iterations of the project have been presented at ZAZ Corner in New York and MUTEK(AE) in Dubai.
