The Cosmos is Soa J. Hwang's video artwork released as a part of <Time + Machine> initially created as an interactive video installation.

The Cosmos is inspired by Soa J. Hwang's own experience of motherhood. Hwang depicts a metaphorical sense of gravity within the relationship and draws that the experience of one’s presence enlightens the other and how relationships can form the universe for each other. The artist made drawings with ink on paper and transferred them into the game engine to write code to respond to the audience's proximity. So the original work is devised to change the painting's colours and luminosity depending on where the audience stands in the space.
