Shepard Fairey has been dubbed one of the most influential street artists of our time. He aims for his work to reach the broadest audience possible, and as part of the 2010 art fair Art Basel Miami, he created a huge mural on a public building, Mandala Ornament.

In this artwork Mandala, we see the design re-imagined, as each separate element of the surrounding pattern revolves around a central motif – the face of French wrestler Andre the Giant. The elaborately-ornate design continuously expands and contracts, while its core remains static, adding a slightly sinister undertone to this entrancing artwork.
