Dancing Intarsia is the fourth of five works in a series of animated kaleidoscopes and seamless tile patterns that highlight the beautiful grains and textures of wood to create beautiful reflected or tiled designs. The series is called Smooth Wood Enchanters. This creation features a closeup, detailed view of the patterns that dance where four kaleidoscopic tiles in a 2 x 2 arrangement intersect. I created a collage of assorted and mostly knot-free hardwood images as a base. I used digital tools to simulate intarsia patterns after which I applied my digital reflection and animation effects. The center of the video is the "dance floor" where the four kaleidoscopes intersect. This series started in early 2024. All the videos in the Smooth Wood Enchanters series are making their first appearance here on Sedition Art. The video can loop seamlessly. There is no sound.
