The Sun in an Empty Room is part of Passages, a collection of nine images and videos from different series of work by Nicolas Feldmeyer. The works contemplate space, light, and the longing for what is out of reach.
Inspired by a 1936 painting of the same name by Edward Hopper, this work started as a study of the evocative potential of light. In the absence of any narrative context, props or human presence, the atmosphere of the space is left to speak for itself.
