Terrain Vague is an imagined, entirely 3D generated landscape; the composed memory of a place never visited.
Terrain Vague means something like a wasteland in French, but with an emphasis on ‘undefined’ rather than ‘wasted’. The terrain in the image was generated using a mathematic 3D wave [‘vague’ in French] generator. Terrain Vague could also be an introspective allusion, a study in ‘daydreaming’: the landscape as a state of mind, as Werner Herzog puts it.
