My people humble people is part of Passages, a collection of nine images and videos from different series of work by Nicolas Feldmeyer.
The two video works in the collection are an exploration of rhythm and contemplation, of Nature and the discovery of patterns in its vastness. The first editions of both video were purchased by the UCL Art Museum, as part of the William Coldstream prize Feldmeyer was awarded for his degree show at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL.
Rain drops falling in a puddle produce small digital ellipses. It needs a second look at the screen to notice the camouflaged geometry highlighting a simple natural phenomenon. Played in an endless loop, the video invites the viewer to contemplate the modulations of a simple structure hesitating between control and randomness.
