In one of the many artistic approaches, he trained various AI-driven visual models on his photographs. Then the archaeological (etymological?) research begins.

In #MERZmemory Diffused he goes one step further and combines StyleGAN2 with diffusion models. Models trained on Merzmensch's datasets dream subtle abstract variations of his memory, intensified by more advanced models.

This is a human-machine collaboration between dreaming and waking, between reality and fiction. The boundaries disappear.
