With Squarish, Jaap Drupsteen explores the illusory and figurative images in a digital space. The animation shows formative changes as triangles come out and merge into a square form. The artist interprets this as a forced transformation saying ‘A horrifying new truth emerges. A forced square of lied and leaking triangles’.

Drupsteen also composed the music and loosely entangled it with the images. Yet they are recognisably connected to the ground as both move with the same temporal rhythm and tempo.
