Waiting for the Storm is a moving image work which is part of the Waiting collection of ten works, each of which is created to seamlessly and continuously loop.
The collection was largely inspired by the works of the Danish Modernism and Expressionism movement, in particular the work of Carl Holsøe and Vilhelm Hammershøi.
The focus between the established idea of a still-life and the scene in the background is usually mutually exclusive. In this work, the juxtaposition of the potential violence of the brewing storm and the serene calm of the foreground is disarming.
