Waiting for Ida is a moving image work which is part of the Waiting collection of ten works, each of which is created to seamlessly and continuously loop.
The collection was largely inspired by the works of the Danish Modernism and Expressionism movement, in particular the work of Carl Holsøe and Vilhelm Hammershøi.
This piece started with the working title of Four Candles. Blossom blowing in the wind breaks up the scene but also gives a clear clue as to the time of year. The reason the woman waits may not be immediately obvious.
