Boom! Planes is one of a series of four one-minute clips in the Boom! collection.

After viewing the 2024 olympics opening ceremonies in Paris, and subsequently watching news reports of war in Gaza and Ukraine, Arielko decided to combine the two in a juxtaposition of vibrant multicolor explosions of different objects, perhaps as a commentary on the fact that war has become a form of entertainment in the twisted reality we call modern life.

The use of melancholy, poignant classical piano is also a reminder of the type of manipulation we are constantly under, usually unaware of how our psyche is being handled and controlled.

The fine line between something that is visually pleasing, and the emotional association to the horrors that these images convey, is what this piece is all about.

The images were generated in Midjourney and animated in Runway, while the majority of the soundtracks were created using Udio.
